Being yourself is sexy, not a clone in sea of conformists.

I agree with you totally. The voice thing was absolutely perfect. I don’t know how my friends would react to this, but it definitely makes me feel sort of better — not that it makes me feel significantly more accepting of my appearance, but just the fact that their raising awareness and that others feel the same way is comforting.

yeah. i agree with tat. u can ignore wat haters say. but if ur like tat girl tat doesnt have ANYONE any friends becuz of her weight, then she cant really ignore it. its easier if u have friends, but when ur all by urself u cant just be like psszz i dont care wat ppl say becuz in d end ur just in d same place. and even if ppl rnt talking, she still dont have any friends which was wat was really bothering her. wow. long rant…

6. katara13 says:

wow. i cant believe she didnt have any friends until she was like skinny. tat means tat all of her friends tat she has now are not true friends becuz theyre just as judgemental as everyone else and completely ignored her when she wasnt skinny. n now only talk to her cuz she’s skinnier. idk. but in my school theres a whole bunch of girls tat are considered “fat” and yet they have soo many friends becuz of their awesome personality. so idk wat school she went to.

The funny thing is all these thoughts and feelings were triggered by what other think. What other people thought or said. You really shouldn’t care what people. think. I mean what’s the point bthey gonna talk down on you anyway. So why care what others thing. If you respnd by saying oh I’m so fat or I’m so skinny. Then you just giving them more to feed on

whats the song ?

I disagree (thought probably out of hope more than anything). They’ve constructed the ad perfectly. Hearing the voice of the girl saying that she’s bigger than her friends before you see the picture, then seeing this tiny girl, probably only about 13, emphasises how a person’s perception of their body can be so distorted. Especially if the people watching the ad always compare themselves to other people, they might say “hey, this girls really pretty and small, but she feels the same way”.

I don’t get dove. Bassicaly half of my class thinks they’re fat or ugly, which is sad cause they’re not, but showing them this video wouldn’t make them care. They’d just say “so what? the people in the adds hate their body….join the club” I don’t think this video has made an impression on me or my friends, but maybe i’m wrong ( i probably am)..Doves good and all (i think it’s cool they’re trying to save us) but it doesn’t change anything. Sory, keep trying dove. :D

I agree with the fact that no one else is doing this kind of thing,

And, as a reply to xMissJessiica their ads on “pro-age” etc. they use normal people, usually…

12. SeattleGayNews says:

what was this shot with?

13. lzfilms says:

Why I am reading more negative comments than possitive? We should be estatic that a popular “beauty company” is taking legitimate action to end the negative influence the media has over society. I am ballerina, we are starting to change ur image to something that looks healthier and is stronger rather than just bones dancing on stage…This really is an important movement

14. xMissJessiica says:

I think its great that Dove has got so many campaigns for real beauty, but they contradict their messages when they use slim models with perfect skin, body shape, hair, eyes etc in their advertisements.
To haters of this video- appreciate it for its message. Atleast Dove is trying to make a change in our world’s view of beauty.

15. Goldfishyy707 says:

that’s the point. It goes to show how much words and actions can distort your perception of beauty and the way you view yourself.

16. Goldfishyy707 says:

how so? do explain.

I honestly don’t see how a cosmetic company making a campaign to help girls earn self-confidence is doing anything wrong, especially since they aren’t advertising their products through the campaign.

17. yaminowa says:

And why do you think she spent her time terrorizing the ones with a lower social status than her? Because she did not have anything true to herself to be truly proud of, something to lift her up and make her happy. Therefore she needed to put others down to make herself feel better than others. People are able to change, I just hope you know that.

18. jasonchtaylor says:

these people are just shit (dove)….they are the ones creating the problems and this is just another tragic form of corporate social responsibility

19. WILLOxSGx says:

obviously dumbass why would they do it just kidding but really tho

20. haydengabby says:

Every one should just mind there own business. Let people live how they wanna be.. judging is the worst thing you can find in a person :l

21. killerdx33 says:

22. camiss says:

23. calebworley1 says:

25. Darkspine345 says:
